Remington 600 Serial Number Dates

Rich,I am not sure, but I think that Remington had a letter code stamped on the barrel. I am not sure on the 600's.then again I can be completely wrong!I've got Rich's Mohawk 600. The left side of the bbl at the action is stamped with 3 letters(equally spaced) and a number. The first two letters weren't stamped flush so are only partial but look to be an N(a guess) and a K(pretty sure).
